Attempted Robbery - CVS Pharmacy

Man Attempts to Rob Woman, Hits her in head with hammer.

Detectives are investigating a robbery that took place at the CVS Pharmacy on Bellefontaine Ave, at approximately 8:00 PM  on Tuesday December 3rd 2013.  The suspect approached a 67 year old female customer who was walking into the store and grabbed her purse.  When the victim held onto her purse, the suspect hit her in the head several times with a hammer.  Two store employees intervened, and stopped the suspect.  The suspect fled to a vehicle parked in the area and drove away.  The vehicle was described as a silver or green Kia Soul with Ohio license plates.  The suspect was described as a white male 30-40 years of age, between 5’08” and 6’00”, approximately 180 pounds.  The suspect had a scruffy beard, a black zip up hoody, blue jeans and white tennis shoes.  The suspect was also possibly wearing a New York Yankees hat.  The victim was transported to St. Rita's Medical Center.
